Financial Services: The #1 Vertical

Roughly 4 out of 5 of his promotions fall under financial services.
The category is expensive enough to support healthy commissions.
People research carefully before buying, which is why auto-webinars work so well—they lead and educate before pitching.
Direct mail "opens the door" naturally for these high-consideration offers.

What Makes a Good Auto-Webinar Offer

Teaches something valuable before the pitch.
Conversational tone, not hype-heavy.
Pitch comes naturally near the end, like a soft invitation.
Red flags: overly slick, overly salesy, pure flash-and-fluff presentations.

"Take Your Passion Out of This"

One of Robert's recurring themes: don't pick products based on personal interest.

You're not selling or fulfilling the product—you're building postcards and sending data.
If your passion is puppy rescue, use the profits from what actually sells to fund it.
He'd rather tell the "cold stone truth" than encourage chasing a market with no money in it.

AI's Limited Role in This Method

Robert pointed out that AI isn't central to Postcard Cheat Code because the postcard content is essentially the landing page—already written for you. Where AI helps:

Market research when doing deep dives into a new vertical.
Finding related niches (e.g., feeding Claude a market list and asking for splinter niches).
Beyond that, he'll add AI training only if members specifically request it.

Demographic Shift: Younger Audiences Trust Mail Too

Robert corrected his own older training:

Gen Z and Millennials do engage with direct mail—the old "only old people open mail" narrative is outdated.
Millennials are now in their 30s and 40s; Gen Z is approaching the 35+ spending demographic.

20 Minute Trader — Ugly, in-your-face landing page with an exit pop, Trustpilot badge, and 500,000 registrants. "An ugly page with a blatant headline" that likely converts.

Why Relatable Biz-Ops Work

Storage unit flipping, Amazon FBA, box truck businesses—these succeed because the average person can visualize doing them.
Avoid: "Build 9 Claude Bots using Python in 3 weeks"—people shut down.

Vetting Offers Before You Mail

Robert's process when he finds a candidate:

Use Brave browser to inspect the pixel (Chrome works too). Confirms tracking is firing and retargeting is active.
Sign up with a throwaway Gmail using the pattern robert.stukes+offername@gmail.com. Gmail will filter everything from that offer into a labeled folder automatically.
Within 1-2 days you'll see:
- Their email follow-up sequence
- Whether they're retargeting you
- Their other active ads in the Ads Library

Blue and Orange Bonus

Affiliate Programs: Not Required

You do not need an affiliate program. About 90% of Robert's promotions don't have one.
All you need is the sales-tracking script found in the course templates.
If a vendor doesn't have one, setting one up on Zsa takes 20-30 minutes and costs $75/month—essentially free money for them.
You handle direct mail; they handle online. Clean split.

Outreach & Negotiation

Robert pushed hard on persistence:

Follow up 2, 3, 4 times. People are going through divorces, running businesses, ignoring unfamiliar emails—there are a thousand reasons for silence.
If someone hasn't replied after 4 follow-ups, move on. There are hundreds of other offers.
You can realistically hit 50-100 outreach emails per day using templates.
Target outcome: 6-7 product owners with active, rapport-building conversations.

What to Tell Product Owners

Never lead with "I'm doing direct mail." It invites confusion, skepticism ("is this legal?"), or unwanted questions.
Instead: "I have access to buyers lists that are active in your market."
That's true, clean, and moves the conversation forward.

Commission Negotiation Strategy

Start at ~33% commission (e.g., $1,000 of a $3,000 sale where their margin is $1,500).
After about 3 months of consistent sales, renegotiate upward.
Frame it as volume: "My margins are tight. At $700-$750 commission, I can bring you more customers."
With enough margin on their end, Robert has pushed commissions up to 70% over time.

Program Closing Note
